We don’t just keep bees — we fight for them
At Hampson Honey, bees are more than our business. They’re our family, our passion, and our mission. Every drop of golden honey we bottle is a testament to the ethical care we give our bees, and the fight we’re leading to protect them.
Saving bees, one swarm at a time
When most people see a swarm of bees in their backyard, they call an exterminator. But here at Hampson Honey, we see a swarm and grab our gear.
Rescuing swarms is part of our commitment to ethical, sustainable beekeeping. These swarms are not pests, they’re vital pollinators looking for a new home. And we’re proud to give them one.
Our team responds to calls across the region, relocating swarms and rehoming them in healthy, happy hives. Every swarm we save is a small victory for biodiversity, for local food systems, and for the future of beekeeping.
Beekeeping with heart
We believe ethical beekeeping starts with respect for the bees and for the land. That’s why we never use harsh chemicals, never over-harvest, always keep enough honey on for the bees, and always keep our bees’ health at the centre of everything we do.
We advocate for responsible beekeeping practices that honour organic principles such as managing disease outbreaks responsibly and without the use of chemical treatments like antibiotics. Using antibiotics in hive masks health issues with the colony and lead to rampant disease outbreaks which can be detrimental to the beekeeping industry. Antibiotics can also end up in the honey. We actively mentor and support beekeepers who want to do right by their bees. Because a better future for bees starts with education and care.
Bees keep Australia growing
Bees are responsible for pollinating more than a third of the food we eat. In Australia, our fruits, vegetables, nuts, and countless crops depend on healthy pollinator populations to thrive. Without bees, our food security, and the livelihoods of thousands of farmers, are at serious risk. That’s why protecting bees and supporting a strong beekeeping industry isn’t just good environmental stewardship. It’s essential for the future of food in Australia.
Fighting fake honey
Here’s the hard truth: fake, imported honey is flooding the market, and it’s hurting beekeepers and honey packers doing the right thing.
Much of this cheap “honey” is cut with sugar syrups like corn syrup or rice syrup. Not only does it mislead consumers, but it also undercuts the work of ethical beekeepers who work tirelessly to do the right thing by their customers and the bees.
At Hampson Honey, we’re leading the charge against fake honey. We are advocating for transparent labelling, and we educate our customers so they know what real honey should taste like, and why it matters.
Join us in saving the bees
The world needs bees more than ever, and bees need us. Whether we’re rescuing a swarm, mentoring a new beekeeper, or speaking out against honey fraud, every action we take is rooted in one mission: to protect the future of bees and the people who care for them.
